About The Opportunity
This is an open position within FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The reporting location for this onsite position will be either FirstEnergy's corporate headquarters in Akron, OH, or in Morristown, NJ. The Executive Assistant Leadership position will report to the Vice President and Chief Risk Officer and will also support the Vice President of Investor Relations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe workplace for coworkers and the community based on knowledge of potential hazards and industry regulations/requirements.
- Provide sophisticated organizational leadership, including calendar and travel management.
- Prioritize inquiries and requests, troubleshoot conflicts independently, and make decisions to ensure effective day-to-day scheduling.
- Keep senior leaders informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately.
- Complete a broad variety of administrative tasks, including:
- Collecting and preparing information for meetings.
- Composing and preparing correspondence.
- Designing and producing complex documents, reports, and presentations.
- Maintaining a well-organized filing system for key materials.
- Managing contact lists.
- Making travel arrangements.
- Completing expense and mileage reports.
- Completing special projects as assigned.
- Manage the senior leader’s time by reading, researching, collecting, and analyzing information in advance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for other FirstEnergy executives, internal and external stakeholders, and external visitors, including handling matters of a highly confidential or critical nature.
- Research and prioritize information to determine the appropriate course of action, referral, or response.
- Exercise judgment to reflect the senior leader’s style and organization policy.
- Communicate directly on behalf of the senior leader, responding to emails, texts, and phone calls outside of normal business hours as needed.
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive or confidential information and materials.
- Communicate effectively and with good judgment across all levels of the organization and with external parties.
- Display excellent teamwork while collaborating with others.
- Assist with other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 10 years of comparable work experience, including experience providing support to C-Suite executives.
- Must pass the company Support and Administrative Selection System (SASS) test.
- Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.); ability to design and edit graphic presentations and materials.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills; proven ability to deliver high-quality work that meets deadlines.
- Ability to make appropriate, informed decisions regarding priorities and available time.
- Exceptional organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail.
