Responsibilities
- Drafting correspondence, preparing presentations, reports, press releases
- Preparing and distributing meeting minutes
- Sorting mail and ordering supplies
- Assisting with research grant application
- Tracking grant reporting
- Performing web research on federal research funding trends
- Identifying articles and opportunities of interest to the department
- Triaging calls from other departments, donors, the media, other scientists, politicians, advocacy partners and sometimes opposition groups
- Scheduling meetings
- Making travel arrangements
- Processing travel reimbursements
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Three to five years of experience in office administration
- One to two years of professional work experience with project management, data management, policy research, non-profit fundraising, or related experience
- Excellent communication skills and diplomacy
- Exceptionally organized to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines and schedules
- High proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
