About the role

AlixPartners is searching for an Aerospace & Defense Partner who is passionate about delivering high-value, complex opportunities. The Aerospace & Defense practice serves clients across the aerospace, defense, commercial aviation, space, defense technology, and broader industrial ecosystem, helping leadership teams solve high-impact challenges related to growth, performance improvement, operational excellence, digital transformation, and value creation.

The rapid adoption of Artificial Intelligence across the aerospace and defense sector has created significant demand for leaders who can combine deep technical credibility with industry expertise. This Partner will help clients identify, design, and implement AI solutions that improve decision-making, optimize operations, enhance engineering and manufacturing performance, strengthen supply chain resiliency, unlock commercial opportunities, and create sustainable competitive advantage. They will also play a key role in shaping and scaling AlixPartners' AI capabilities within the Aerospace & Defense practice.

As the primary contact for clients, you will lead projects and engagements, analyze corporate performance, drive cost reductions, revenue growth, and profitability improvement. This is a full-time Partner position in the Americas. Travel is part of this position, with frequency varying based on client, team, and individual circumstances. AlixPartners has embraced a hybrid work model combining in-person (at client site or AlixPartners office) and remote working.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client engagements, serving as the primary contact for clients and driving projects on the ground.
  • Analyze corporate performance and drive cost reductions, revenue growth, and profitability improvement.
  • Identify, design, and implement AI solutions to improve decision-making, optimize operations, and enhance engineering and manufacturing performance.
  • Shape and scale AlixPartners' AI capabilities within the Aerospace & Defense practice.
  • Build and develop new client relationships with public, private, and private equity-backed organizations.
  • Deepen client relationships by identifying opportunities to support clients based on expertise and leadership.
  • Lead business development in collaboration with C-Suite, funds, and financial institutions.
  • Manage all aspects of engagements, such as restructurings, liquidations, receiverships, and judicial managements.
  • Run day-to-day operations of projects, navigate disruptions, manage project commercials and staffing, and mitigate risks.
  • Define, communicate, motivate, and inspire change at executive levels and across broader stakeholder communities.
  • Structure approaches to solve complex problems and synthesize information rapidly to drive insights.
  • Align and scale data modeling and management approaches with client needs, ensuring an 80/20 approach to draw conclusions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18+ years of consulting experience or equivalent experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry.
  • 5+ years of Aerospace & Defense consulting experience in a professional services firm environment preferred.
  • 5+ years of meaningful AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, or data science experience.
  • Proven track record of building and developing new client relationships leading to successful engagements.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and support clients based on expertise and leadership.
  • Track record in leading business development and collaborating with C-Suite, funds, and financial institutions.
  • Experience leading all aspects of engagements, including restructurings, liquidations, receiverships, and judicial managements.
  • High energy, flexible, and adaptive with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled at defining, communicating, motivating, and inspiring change at executive levels.
  • Ability to view problems from a big-picture perspective and quickly structure approaches to solve complex issues.
  • Strong analytical skills, adept at rapidly synthesizing information and applying business discernment.
  • Articulate and persuasive communicator who commands the room and adapts style to audience and circumstance.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, building trust with clients and peers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or foreign equivalent; Master’s degree and/or certification in related specialty area(s) preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours as projects and needs arise.
  • Ability to work full-time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer for significant portions of the workday.

Pay

The salary range for this role is between $230,000/year - $410,000/year with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
