Exec Sous Chef

About the role

The Hilton Columbus Polaris is seeking an Executive Sous Chef to assist the Executive Chef in managing the Food and Beverage department, which includes overseeing the restaurant and bar, 17 Arrows Craft Kitchen and Bar, and any banquet functions during your shift.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of the kitchen and kitchen personnel
• Ensuring the quality preparation of all menu items
• Proper handling and storage of all food items in accordance with standards
• Cooking and preparing meals according to the menu
• Assisting in coordinating the purchase of all food and developing menus
• Maintaining approved food and labor costs
• Supporting the restaurant operations and launching marketing campaigns

Requirements

• At least 2-3 years experience in a scratch kitchen as a Sous Chef or in a supervisory role
• Open availability
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and walk/stand for long periods
• Keen eye for detail and understanding of guest experience
• Comfortable addressing conflicts and making things right for guests
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, and weekends
