About the role

The Exchange Traded Funds - Senior Specialist, Fund/Client Accounting role is located in Lake Mary, FL. This role involves conducting accounting services for assigned clients and moderately complex funds, performing complex fund/client accounting responsibilities, providing guidance and review work related to cash and asset reconciliations, drafting client reports on the performance of complex funds, and assisting in evaluating GAAP and/or IFRS rules.

Responsibilities

  • Determine net asset values (NAVs) and calculate fund performance.
  • Allocate expenses and prepare reports.
  • Drive service improvement plans, target efficiencies, enhance processes, and conduct specialist review functions.
  • Provide input into methodologies and review the work of junior team members.
  • Resolve reconciliations for atypical transactions and review the work of junior team members.
  • Draft client reports on the performance of complex funds, review draft reports completed by junior staff, and interact with clients to answer questions and resolve issues regarding fund reports and accounting processes.
  • Evaluate GAAP and/or IFRS rules to determine the impact of new regulations on BNY Mellon fund accounting practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5–7 years of total work experience preferred.
  • Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred.
  • Experience with GAAP and/or IFRS, fund accounting processes, reconciliations, client reporting, and process improvement.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant accounting software.

  • Fund accounting and reconciliation expertise.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS.
  • Effective communication and client interaction skills.
  • Process improvement and efficiency enhancement abilities.

Pay

The expected base salary for this position when employment commences can be found in the Job Info section at the bottom of the posting. Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
