Position Responsibilities

• Support general education classroom teachers with the implementation of established curriculum and/or individual student plans.
• Provide input on the development of individualized education programs (IEPs) for students.
• Maintains special education files, both paper and electronic files, as directed by federal, state, and local practices.
• Collect data on individual student skills to determine the effectiveness of programming and measure progress toward IEP goals.
• Facilitate IEP meetings for students on your caseload.
• Maximize creating independence across all natural settings.
• Work as a team member and advocate for students to gain exposure to general education peers and settings as appropriate.
• Plan effective instructional and/or behavioral strategies for adapting and modifying general curriculum to ensure all students access academic content.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ Years of teaching experience preferred
• Valid NC Exceptional Education certification and teaching license
• Previous experience with Literacy instruction
• Experience using technology to drive instruction
• Education: Not specified
• Other Qualifications or Characteristics: Belief in the mission of Research Triangle High School, Investment in innovative teaching techniques, including personalized learning, Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player
