Excavator Operator

Description

The ideal candidate will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will operate the excavator and perform daily pre and post inspections of equipment and working areas. Additional duties may include greasing, shoveling, and safely maintaining work areas.

Responsibilities

• Operate the excavator within company guidelines and safety standards
• Complete daily pre and post inspections of working areas and ensure they are equipped with adequate berms and roadways
• Perform pre-shift safety inspection on equipment and report needed repairs to the supervisor
• Ensure safe operations around conveyors, surge piles, and crushers
• Perform daily preventative maintenance - tire pressure, oil, grease, diesel fuel, hoses for leaks, and all moving parts for proper function
• Maintain safe traffic flow throughout the site
• Operate other equipment such as loaders and haul trucks in a safe manner as needed
• Aid in the training of co-workers as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment, construction equipment, and/or equipment used in processing plants
• Experience in operation and maintenance of an excavator (preferred)
