Excavator Operator

About the role

Extreme Excavating is a general contracting company specializing in civil utilities, storm water management, process piping installation, and site development works. With over 20 years of experience as a civil contractor, we provide our clients with dynamic and comprehensive services.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day duties on site needed to complete work in a safe and timely fashion
• Maintain a clean work site
• Fine grading, trenching, and excavation abilities are essential
• Work with a sewer/watermain crew under the supervision of a foreman
• Work with trench boxes (moving, lifting, installing…)
• Experience lowering materials for the piping crew
• Excavate for the installation of mainline sewer/watermain, chambers, manholes, services, backfill, and road reconstruction in traffic closures and around existing utilities
• Verify the location of utilities or other dangers in the ground before starting excavation
• Safety orientated, self-motivated, and work well with others

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the heavy equipment operations in civil construction
• Ability to work with a sewer/watermain crew under the supervision of a foreman
• Ability to work with trench boxes (moving, lifting, installing…)
• Experience lowering materials for the piping crew
• Experience excavating for the installation of mainline sewer/watermain, chambers, manholes, services, backfill, and road reconstruction in traffic closures and around exiting utilities
• Able to verify the location of utilities or other dangers in the ground before starting excavation

Requirements

• Safety orientated, self-motivated, and work well with others
• Certification Required: WHMIS 2015 Level 1 First Aid, Valid Class 5 Drivers License

$34.00-$38.00 per hour
