What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary operator for heavy equipment while coordinating closely with excavation managers and skilled trades to meet daily project goals.
- Manage the transport of tools and materials; efficiently load/unload supplies and set up temporary structures like ladders and barriers.
- Execute pipefitting, water meter repairs, and new service installations, including ditch work and grade laser operation.
- Maintain a hazard-free workspace by securing tools and cleaning the job site daily.
- Proactively engage in on-the-job training to expand technical construction skills.
What You Bring
- Proven track record in excavator operation, loading, and material delivery.
- Proficient with small hand/power tools; Sewer Layer License is a plus.
- Disciplined professional with the ability to arrive at the yard by 6:00 AM daily.
- Committed to strict safety protocols and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to frequently climb in and out of heavy machinery and navigate uneven, rugged terrain on foot throughout the shift.
- Capacity to maintain focus and control during extended periods of equipment operation (often 8–12 hours).
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly (occasionally up to 75–100 lbs for certain manual tasks).
- Strong hand-eye-foot coordination for precise operation of complex hydraulic controls and pedals.
- Excellent depth perception and field of vision to safely monitor ground crews, trench edges, and overhead obstacles.
- Able to kneel, stoop, crouch, and bend frequently to perform equipment inspections or manual labor.

Pay Range
$28 - $40 per hour
