About the Role

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) is seeking an organized, student-centered, and customer-focused professional to serve as the Exam Coordinator. As a key member of a small but dynamic team, the Exam Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting students with disabilities by coordinating accommodated testing services and providing administrative support for the office. This position serves as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors and is responsible for ensuring the smooth administration of accommodated exams. The successful candidate will work closely with students, faculty, and SAS staff to facilitate testing accommodations, support the use of the Roo Access accommodation management system, and help create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable learning and using a variety of technology platforms, able to manage multiple priorities, and committed to supporting student success through equitable access to educational opportunities. This position requires sound judgment, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the campus community.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the accommodated testing process for students approved for testing accommodations.
  • Assist students with scheduling accommodated exams through the Roo Access portal.
  • Communicate with faculty to obtain exam materials and clarify testing instructions as needed.
  • Proctor accommodated exams in accordance with university policies and accommodation requirements.
  • Ensure completed exams are securely returned to faculty in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate testing records and documentation while safeguarding confidential student information.
  • Train and assist students in using the Roo Access accommodation management system.
  • Respond to student, faculty, and staff inquiries regarding testing services and accommodations.
  • Provide accurate information and referrals regarding Student Accessibility Services and university resources.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for students with disabilities.
  • Serve as the primary receptionist and first point of contact for the office.
  • Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, families, and visitors in person, by phone, and through email correspondence.
  • Direct visitors to appropriate campus resources and offices.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail and deliveries.
  • Assist with office operations, including maintaining front desk areas, office supplies, and shared spaces.
  • Support staff with administrative tasks such as document preparation, copying, scanning, filing, and outgoing correspondence.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Schedule

Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to support departmental operations, special events, testing services, and student needs. Flexibility in scheduling is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and provide responsive support to diverse constituents.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive, welcoming environment through active listening, empathy, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Knowledge of disability services, accessibility principles, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504, FERPA, and related regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities and supporting a broad range of accommodation and accessibility needs.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and effectively resolve concerns with discretion, diplomacy, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, student information systems, accommodation/testing management platforms, and other technologies that support student services.
  • Ability to coordinate workflow, adapt to changing operational needs, and provide guidance or lead direction to student employees.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, accessibility, and student success.

Pay

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as up to $25.00 per hour. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
