EWIS Engineer

About the role

We're growing our network of experienced EWIS Engineers to support current and upcoming design, integration, validation, certification, and production support of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) for aerospace programs. This will be a Hybrid role based in Greensboro, North Carolina. This role will work closely with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, quality, and certification teams to ensure aircraft wiring systems are compliant, reliable, manufacturable, and aligned with customer and regulatory requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

EWIS Design & Integration

• Design, develop, and support aircraft Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS).
• Create and maintain wiring diagrams, schematics, installation drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Support the integration of wiring harnesses, connectors, terminals, splices, shielding, grounding systems, and associated hardware.
• Ensure wiring systems meet functionality, reliability, maintainability, and manufacturability requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and support technical assessments of aircraft electrical systems.
• Investigate and resolve engineering issues related to EWIS design and installation.

EWIS Compliance & Certification

• Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, customer, and program-specific EWIS requirements.
• Support certification activities, including compliance documentation, testing, and validation efforts.
• Apply industry standards including SAE AS50881 and other applicable aerospace wiring regulations.
• Review engineering changes to ensure continued compliance with safety, airworthiness, flammability, and electromagnetic compatibility requirements.
