EW Systems Engineer – Chief Engineer pipeline
About the role
In Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions (CEMA), we provide next-generation threat detection and countermeasure solutions to deliver unparalleled electronic warfare capabilities and enhance mission survivability. As a Systems Engineer with Chief Engineering aspirations, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team to design, integrate, debug, and test next-generation EW systems. You will mentor directly with a senior Electronic Warfare (EW) Chief Engineer, contributing technically across system development, requirements development, integration & test, and test planning and execution in a field deployment environment.
This role requires consistent, in-person collaboration and will be performed full-time onsite at a BAE Systems facility.
Responsibilities
- Design, integrate, debug, and test next-generation electronic warfare (EW) systems.
- Collaborate on system development, requirements development, and integration & test activities.
- Plan and execute tests in field deployment environments.
- Mentor with a senior EW Chief Engineer to make technical contributions across multiple programs.
- Develop and capture system requirements.
- Perform system troubleshooting and regression testing of software/firmware.
- Present technical briefings to multi-tiered audiences, including upper management and customers.
Requirements
- BS degree in a STEM field with 8+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent.
- Active SECRET clearance.
- Experience in EW/RF systems development.
- Exposure to multi-discipline embedded integration and test (I&T).
- Experience in requirements development and technical briefings.
Preferred Skills
- RF Development and Test:
- Proven experience in RF development or test, with a strong understanding of RF principles and systems.
- Familiarity with transceivers, including design, testing, or integration.
- Comfortable working with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and noise figures.
- Embedded Systems Integration and Test:
- Experience in multi-discipline embedded I&T, including RF, digital, and software.
- Proven experience in integrating and testing RF and digital systems.
- Software and Firmware:
- Experience in regression testing software and firmware.
- System Troubleshooting and Test Planning:
- Proven experience in troubleshooting complex systems.
- Experience in test planning and execution, including setting up test environments and procedures.
- Requirements Capture and Management:
- Experience in capturing and documenting requirements for RF systems.
- Familiarity with DOORs (Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System).
- Additional Skills:
- Experience conducting trade studies to evaluate system performance and design options.
- Experience developing system architectures from concept to implementation.
- Familiarity with RF system modeling tools and techniques.
- Experience presenting to upper management and customers.
- Familiarity with security and logistics procedures, including reading SCGs (Security Classification Guides) and portion marking documents.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $132,962 – $226,035. Individual salaries are determined by factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
