EVS Unit Director

About the role

As an EVS Unit Director, you will oversee work scheduling, establish work standards, conduct site evaluations and audits, manage inventory and equipment usage, control budgets, perform employee performance appraisals, troubleshoot issues, and provide orientation and training for department managers and support personnel. You will ensure all managed services are delivered in a proper and cost-effective manner while maintaining strong customer relations and handling special projects as requested.

Responsibilities

• Control expenses within area of responsibility.
• Develop and recommend the Department Operating Budget and ensure the department operates within the budget.
• Evaluate and justify supplies, equipment, and purchases as needed.
• Maintain records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and supervise functions and activities of the department.
• Establish work standards and workflow.
• Establish and maintain effective lines of communication with clients and hospital personnel to meet contract requirements.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
• Maintain a sanitary, attractive, and orderly environment.
• Ensure environmental procedures are followed.
• Demonstrate and promote the company’s culture, values, and management philosophy.
• Proactively support hospital goals and objectives.
• Demonstrate quality leadership in meeting performance plans.

Requirements

• Strong leadership skills and experience leading and managing a team.
• Previous EVS Director-level experience in healthcare.
• Customer service mindset.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• EVS Healthcare experience at an equal or higher level required.
• Training, floor care, linen, or union experience.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with general business acumen.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong service/quality attitude.
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
• Strong public speaking skills.
• Sense of urgency, ability to meet deadlines, and self-direction.

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is $95,000 to $100,000, depending on skills, qualifications, degrees, certifications, prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission if applicable.
