About the role

The Environmental Services Technician 2 plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in patient care areas with elevated infection control standards. This position is responsible for performing terminal cleaning of patient rooms—including isolation rooms—and ensuring compliance with established infection prevention protocols. The role also includes cleaning and disinfecting procedural and surgical areas, requiring adherence to sterile field guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform terminal cleaning of patient rooms, including isolation rooms, ensuring compliance with infection prevention protocols.
• Clean and disinfect procedural and surgical areas, adhering to sterile field guidelines.
• Ensure all duties are performed in alignment with Tampa General Hospital’s mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

• One (1) year of experience in environmental services, including experience in a healthcare setting.
• Strong understanding of infection prevention measures and handling of biohazardous waste.
• Experience working closely with clinical teams to ensure compliance with sterile field protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of disinfection techniques and best practices in high-risk clinical environments.

Minimum Salary: $15.91 per hour.

Schedule

Full-time, variable schedule, 7am-3:30pm, Sunday through Saturday.
