Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning and supplying of patient rooms, treatment rooms, restrooms, utility rooms, nurseries, nursing stations, lounges, offices, waiting areas, and other assigned areas in accordance with standard policies and procedures.
• Use applicable cleaning equipment, products, and supplies.
• Remove trash and linen from the facility.
• Project an image of professionalism in communication, appearance, and conduct.
• Maintain a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures, including specialized equipment, quality control requirements, and preventive maintenance.
• Perform general daily cleaning tasks in patient care areas, including isolation rooms, discharges, offices, corridors, bathrooms, and public areas.
• Collect regular trash, regulated medical waste, and soiled linens.
• Vacuum and maintain other assigned areas of the facility (discharges not to exceed 75% of daily shift time).
• Demonstrate outstanding customer service and ensure successful patient/customer interactions while maintaining safe and high-quality cleaning standards.
• Recognize, comprehend, and follow designated signs, symbols, and written instructions as trained.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to read, speak, understand, and follow written and verbal directions in English with basic comprehension sufficient for understanding job-specific forms, documents, signs, symbols, and written instructions.
• Ability to recognize and comprehend emergency and urgent situations and communicate effectively so others understand.
• Valid California driver’s license required for those authorized to operate Hoag vehicles.

Qualifications

Preferred:

• High School graduate or GED.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to use email and complete computer-based training courses with minimal assistance.
• Previous hospital and/or hospitality housekeeping experience.
• Experience with the operation of cleaning equipment such as vacuums, extractors, bovac, and roto machines.
