About the role
Provides direction and development of support staff and team members, resulting in strong self-managed teams. Interviews, hires, and ensures proper training of new team members. Assists with employee timesheets. Supervises day-to-day cleanliness and sanitation of public areas in Horseshoe Casino to ensure a welcoming, safe, and positive experience for all guests, employees, and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Interviews, hires, and trains new team members.
- Assists with employee timesheets.
- Schedules employees to maintain excellent guest services and efficiency.
- Reviews special requests and areas of focus for smooth operations.
- Maintains property cleanliness in the casino and restroom areas.
- Delegates tasks and holds team members accountable for success.
- Maintains a safe, healthy, productive, and fun work environment.
- Monitors casino floor, stairs, mirrors, glass, and assigned areas for quality and cleanliness.
- Cleans gaming tables as requested, dusts and cleans casino signage, and performs daily cleaning duties such as vacuuming, mopping, cleaning restrooms, and sweeping.
- Ensures proper disposal of trash and recycling, operates trash and cardboard compactor, and maintains equipment supplies and supply rooms.
- Assigns daily cleaning duties to Public Area/EVS staff and prepares and maintains files, records, and reports.
- Maintains inventory and orders departmental cleaning supplies as required.
- Enforces standard operational procedures and coordinates with prior shift supervisors.
- Completes special assignments and assists in orienting and training new Public Area/EVS Attendants, Leads, and Supervisors.
- Ensures all keys are issued, signed out, and returned by the end of shift, and ensures all Public Area/EVS personnel complete mandatory and required computer-based training.
- Maintains break room and executive office facilities, participates in departmental safety and technical training programs, and responds to maintenance needs and emergency repairs.
- Manages several projects simultaneously, manages changing priorities, and makes rational decisions in emergencies.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year supervisory, housekeeping, or environmental services operations experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, team building, and problem-solving skills.
- Computer experience, especially with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and UKG.
- Knowledgeable with chemical and cleaning supplies and techniques, including MSDS and OSHA.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of chemical and cleaning supplies and technique/equipment.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English. Bilingual skills in Spanish helpful.
- Ability to present a well-groomed appearance and uphold high standards of integrity.
- Ability to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Qualifications

- Good understanding of English and Spanish (helpful).

- Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in emergencies.
