EVS Project Tech Full-time Second shift

About the Role

The EVS Project Tech reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory and accreditation standards. This role maintains the hospital in an orderly, safe, and sanitary condition through a variety of cleaning and project duties.

Schedule: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned restoration of hard-surface resilient floor care, including stripping, shower scrubbing, finish application, and burnishing of floors.
• Performs assigned cleaning procedures on all soft-surface floors (carpet), including vacuuming, damp buffing, hot water extraction, dry enzyme process, and spot extraction.
• Completes project duties such as upholstery cleaning, wall washing, cubicle curtain/drape assembly/disassembly, light cleaning, and ledge cleaning.
• Completes Altrapure (disinfecting system) process for assigned patient rooms, surgical suites, clinical and treatment areas, and ancillary areas, including setup, machine operation, and breakdown.
• Exhibits proficient technical knowledge of department equipment, chemicals, safety, and policies/procedures. Uses equipment and chemicals safely and effectively.
• Promotes safety in the workplace by using wet floor signs, PPE, and following infection control and isolation guidelines.
• Performs duties of Environmental Services Tech, Sanitation Tech, or Service Associate when needed.
• Articulates designed scripting model to customers, greets all customers with a smile, and maintains professional image and uniform standards.
• Takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment, including picking up defects, reporting issues, and protecting the facility.
• Maintains clean and organized equipment, carts, and work areas; does not leave equipment unattended.
• Shows empathy toward customers and colleagues, resolves complaints promptly, and supports teamwork and lateral service.
• Protects patient, visitor, and coworker privacy and handles issues or complaints with service recovery.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience.
• Ability to read English and understand equipment manuals.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• One to three years of environmental services experience in a healthcare or hospitality environment.
