About the role

The EVS Project Tech reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and regulatory standards. Cleans and services the hospital, performing a variety of duties to maintain the hospital in an orderly, safe, and sanitary condition. Completes project duties including hard surface and carpet care, wall washing, and hanging of cubicle curtains.

Responsibilities

  • Performs assigned restoration of hard surface resilient floor care, including stripping, shower scrubbing, finish application, and burnishing of floors.
  • Performs assigned cleaning procedures on all soft surface floors (carpet), including vacuuming, damp buffing, hot water extraction, dry enzyme process, and spot extraction.
  • Completes projects such as upholstery cleaning, wall washing, cubicle curtain/drape assembly/disassembly, light cleaning, and ledge cleaning.
  • Completes Altrapure (disinfecting system) process for all assigned patient rooms, surgical suites, clinical and treatment areas, and ancillary areas, including assignment and tracking of rooms, set-up, machine operations, and breakdown.
  • Exhibits proficient technical knowledge of department equipment, chemicals, safety, and policies/procedures. Uses equipment and chemicals in a safe and effective manner.
  • Practices safety measures by utilizing wet floor signs, PPE, and other safety procedures.
  • Performs duties of the Environmental Services Tech, Sanitation Tech, or the Service Associate when needed.
  • Uses appropriate chemicals, diluted at the correct ratio, in properly labeled containers.
  • Promotes safety in the workplace by following established infection control and isolation guidelines and using standard precautions.
  • Performs additional work and projects as assigned by manager or supervisor.
  • Articulates designed scripting model to each customer served.
  • Adheres to departmental uniform standards and maintains a professional image.
  • Greets all customers with a smile and understands role expectations in achieving departmental and hospital goals.
  • Presents positive verbal and nonverbal communication, reflecting stated values in behavior.
  • Listens to customers, learns their needs, and responds to requests.
  • Recognizes contributions of others and treats all patients, visitors, and co-workers with respect.
  • Identifies defects within the facility and takes personal responsibility for maintaining a clean and safe environment (pick-up, point-out, and protect).
  • Maintains clean and organized equipment, carts, and work area; does not leave equipment unattended.

  • Shows empathy toward customers and fellow employees to better understand their needs.
  • Owns complaints and resolves them immediately with the attitude, “If I receive a complaint, I will own it.”
  • Protects the privacy of patients, visitors, guests, and fellow co-workers.
  • Supports fellow co-workers through teamwork and lateral service to meet the needs of guests and each other.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience
  • Must be able to read English and understand equipment manuals

Qualifications

Preferred: One to three years of environmental services experience in a healthcare or hospitality environment.
