About the Role
This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.
Schedule
Full-time, 36–40 hours per week. Availability needed: Saturday and Sunday for 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) plus additional 8-hour shifts.
Pay
Hourly rate: $17.68 – $22.99, based on experience. Differential: +10% to +15% for hours worked in the evening, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures
- Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards
- Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash
- Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards
- Follow all infection prevention practices (e.g., proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, proper donning and doffing of PPE)
- Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety

Qualifications
- One or more years of experience as a Custodian, Janitor, or Housekeeper (preferred)
- Demonstrated communication skills, including differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals and following written and/or verbal directions
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet department needs
- Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience (preferred)
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs
- Frequent interactions with customers requiring clear communication and quick understanding of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment, including heavy items
- Work on hands and knees and bend to set up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
