EVS - Floor Care Technician - Part Time

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Periodic advanced floor care duties include stripping, buffing, and waxing of hard floors, carpet extraction and shampooing, and marble maintenance.
• Vacuum carpeted floor surfaces.
• Dry and wet mop hard-surface floors.
• Mix chemicals accurately and safely to perform duties.
• Ensure all equipment is kept clean and report any malfunctions or safety hazards to management.
• Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Knowledgeable and proficient in all EVS equipment, chemicals, & techniques.
• Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards.
• Simple reading, writing, math, and complex task completion skills are required.
• Coordination, precision working, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, independent judgment, and decision making skills are needed.
• Flexible working all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.

Physical Demands

• Sitting and standing constantly.
• Lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling up to 50lbs or less.
• Constantly using both feet and both hands.
• Constantly performing light and firm/strong grasping motions.
• Constantly using vision abilities including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

Work Environment

• Indoors and outdoors, alone and frequently with and around others.
• Face-to-face verbal contact with others on extended shifts around mechanical and other electrical devices.
• Exposure to flame/heat generated devices, confined areas, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions, dirt/dust, moving objects, high places, and slippery surfaces.
• Noise levels in the work environment are usually moderate but may be loud at times and possible exposure to vibrations.
• Exposure to fumes/odor and/or secondhand smoke.
