About the Role
As the District Manager, you will manage and direct the overall operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments across multiple skilled nursing facilities in an assigned geographic area. Your leadership will ensure each facility is clean, sanitary, safe, secure, and adequately supplied, maintaining the highest degree of quality resident care in compliance with current federal, state, and local standards.
Responsibilities
- Manages operations in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Visits each facility in the district regularly to meet with managers and provide performance feedback to support their professional development.
- Maintains contact with clients to ensure satisfaction with Yona’s services.
- Trains workers in housekeeping, laundry, and floor care procedures, including proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Supervises and evaluates the quality of work completed by Environmental Services Directors and Supervisors.
- Maintains a sanitary, attractive, and orderly environment at each facility in the district.
- Forecasts and plans the purchase of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
- Reviews and analyzes all reports for the district.
- Interviews, hires, and orients Environmental Services Managers and Supervisors for facilities in the district.
- Maintains proper staffing levels at each facility.
- Maintains knowledge of applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) in the district.
- Attains financial goals for each facility by managing a cost-effective program.
- Maintains required records, including inventory, compliance, income/expense, and personnel records.
- Conducts regular management staff meetings and coordinates with other departments to align housekeeping activities.
- Ensures departments are survey-ready at all times, operating within federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintains excellent relations with residents, visitors, and all community departments.
- Actively participates in facility meetings and committees.
- Promotes the professional growth and development of the entire departmental team.
- Conducts quality assurance rounds and inspections to ensure current quality controls and methodologies are suitable and sustainable.
- Reports monthly initiatives, goals, and accomplishments.
- Promotes and monitors resident satisfaction.
- Performs job assignments of a housekeeper, laundry worker, or floor care technician as necessary.
- Completes other job duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Four-year college degree and equivalent related experience strongly desired; high school diploma/GED required.
- Two years’ experience in housekeeping services and multi-facility management in a healthcare environment is preferred.
- General business acumen.
- Skilled in motivating and supervising staff members.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, and quality-focused attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
- Public speaking skills.
- Strong stress management, administrative, organizational, and follow-through skills (with associates and clients).
- Ability to interact positively with residents, clients, personnel, and the public.
- Ability to work all shifts as needed.
- Proficient in Windows-based office software, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work around cleaning chemicals.
- Physical ability to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
