About the Role
As the District Manager, you will manage and direct the overall operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments across multiple skilled nursing facilities within an assigned geographic area. Your leadership will ensure facilities are clean, sanitary, safe, secure, and adequately supplied to maintain the highest quality of resident care. You will foster a collaborative environment that promotes professional growth, pride, and responsibility among team members while delivering warm and friendly hospitality to residents, visitors, and coworkers.
Responsibilities
- Manage operations in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Visit each facility in the district regularly to meet with managers and provide feedback on their performance to support their professional development.
- Maintain contact with clients to ensure satisfaction with Yona’s services.
- Train workers in housekeeping, laundry, and floor care procedures, including proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Supervise and evaluate the quality of work completed by Environmental Services Directors and Supervisors.
- Maintain a sanitary, attractive, and orderly environment at each facility in the district.
- Forecast and plan the purchase of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
- Review and analyze all reports for the district.
- Interview, hire, and orient Environmental Services Managers and Supervisors for facilities in the district.
- Maintain proper staffing levels at each facility.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) in the district.
- Attain financial goals for each facility by managing a cost-effective program.
- Maintain required records, including inventory, compliance, income/expense, and personnel records.
- Conduct regular management staff meetings and coordinate housekeeping activities with other departments.
- Ensure departments are survey-ready at all times, operating within federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain excellent relations with residents, visitors, and all community departments.
- Actively participate in facility meetings and committees.
- Promote the professional growth and development of the entire departmental team.
- Conduct quality assurance rounds and inspections to ensure current quality controls and methodologies are suitable and sustainable.
- Report monthly initiatives, goals, and accomplishments.
- Promote and monitor resident satisfaction.
- Perform job assignments of a housekeeper, laundry worker, or floor care technician as necessary.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Four-year college degree and equivalent related experience strongly desired; high school diploma/GED required.
- Two years’ experience in housekeeping services and multi-facility management in a healthcare environment is preferred.
- General business acumen.
- Skilled in motivating and supervising staff members.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, and a quality-focused attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
- Public speaking skills.
- Strong stress management, administrative, organizational, and follow-through skills (with associates and clients).
- Ability to interact positively with residents, clients, personnel, and the public.
- Ability to work all shifts as needed.
- Proficient in Windows-based office software, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work around cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
