About the Role
The Environmental Services (EVS) Attendant maintains best-in-class cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the Casino and off-site buildings under the direction of the EVS Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Dusts and sanitizes furniture and equipment (slot bases, slot chairs, stanchions, information signs, etc.).
- Ensures cleanliness and overall condition of assigned areas, supporting the efficient operation of the Department.
- Performs general cleaning and sanitizing of all front-of-house and back-of-house areas, including off-site locations.
- Maintains slot machines, card tables, and non-gaming areas in a sanitary condition, including emptying and cleaning ashtrays.
- Cleans and maintains stairwells, elevators, escalators, and people movers, including arranging furniture such as chairs and tables.
- Removes trash and recycling from receptacles and disposes of them at designated locations.
- Operates trash and cardboard compactors following Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG).
- Maintains flooring surfaces by sweeping, mopping, burnishing hard floors, and vacuuming or removing gum from carpets.
- Stocks cleaning materials and equipment, restocks janitor storage areas, and notifies management of supply needs or equipment maintenance.
- Ensures all chemicals are properly labeled according to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and used per manufacturer’s instructions.
- Promotes brand loyalty through exceptional customer service, assisting guests, and answering questions.
- Maintains a positive and professional demeanor during interactions with team members and guests.
- Handles lost and found items following approved policies and procedures.
- Follows OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard and Enterprise’s Exposure Control Plan for cleaning or disposing of blood, infectious materials, or body fluids.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support department efficiency.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
- Entry-level to three (3) months of EVS experience preferred.
- Ability to use necessary tools and equipment required for cleaning duties.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines when using chemicals, equipment, and tools.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to accept performance feedback professionally.
- Consistent regular attendance record.
Licenses and Certifications
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Physical Requirements
- Primary work environment is in a Facilities setting, with occasional travel for meetings, trade shows, or conferences.
- May require evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Must work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Strength to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Physical activities include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Hearing sufficient for conversational levels in person, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
- Speech sufficient to be understood in person, in groups, in meetings, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
- Visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer terminals, reading, and inspecting facilities.
- Mobility to move safely in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and operate a motor vehicle for travel.
- Endurance to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods throughout the work shift.
- May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, or secondhand smoke. Reasonable accommodation will be made in compliance with applicable law.
