Summary
Cleans public and office areas of casino following a preset schedule. The facility is divided into cleaning areas or sections and job assignments are made based on those areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleans assigned section: Dusts and cleans glass, ceramic, vinyl, wood and metal surfaces and fixtures and slot machines as outlined in section assignments.
- Empties trash receptacles and cleans inside of receptacles as needed.
- Follows cycle cleaning procedures.
- Policies assigned area. “Polices” the floor or other area assigned and pick up all trash.
- Vacuum assigned sections.
- Cleans entryways, and surrounding areas.
- Responsible for equipment, so as to protect it from damage and store it to prevent its loss.
- Watches for guest’s safety so that equipment is not left in an unsafe matter.
- Washes windows using correct procedures.
- Disposes of trash according to the environmental method of disposal or holding in specific containers for pick-up.
- Posts safety signs required for the safety of guests and employees.
- Reports all defective equipment to supervisor.
- Is responsible for the safe storage of all cleaning utensils, containers and equipment in order to prevent damage or loss.
- Dusts and wipes down all signs, walls, stools, chairs, decorative objects, counter tops, televisions and office areas.
Qualifications
- Prior cleaning, janitorial or hotel housekeeping experience preferred.
- General knowledge of cleaning chemicals is preferred.
- Must be able to get along with co-workers and develop teamwork.
- Must be able to work at a fast pace.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stands for prolonged periods of time; walks; uses hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reaches with hands and arms; climbs or balances and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
- Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds. An employee performing heavy duty assignments may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly uses close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Exposed to secondary smoke and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Work environment is usually loud.
