EVS Associate - Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehab (Weekend Day Shifts)

About the Role

The Environmental Services (EVS) Associate helps maintain high housekeeping standards, ensuring a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role involves cleaning assigned areas, preventing cross-contamination, controlling bacteria and odors, and managing waste disposal, including biohazard materials.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in assigned areas following departmental policies and procedures.
• Properly dispose of biohazards, environmental contaminants (e.g., batteries, thermometers, needles), and maintain cleanliness in biohazard and loading areas.
• Maintain equipment, clean carts, buckets, floor machines, and supply closets to ensure a professional appearance.
• Comply with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and hand hygiene policies.
• Complete and maintain carpet and hard surface flooring according to departmental procedures.
• Observe safety precautions when using equipment, report mechanical/structural issues, and use wet floor signs to prevent accidents.
• Interact with patients and visitors courteously, following scripting to establish dialogue and extend courtesies.
• Assist with moving furniture, equipment, supplies, recycling, and set-ups as requested.
• Respond promptly to pages or phone calls and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of housekeeping or cleaning experience in a healthcare environment preferred but not required.

Schedule

Sat, Sun, Mon 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
