About the role

As a Housekeeping/EVS Associate, you will work in a fast-paced and physical environment, ensuring a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role requires walking, pushing a cleaning cart, and using cleaning chemicals. You may be assigned to clean specialty areas, including the morgue or areas with blood or bodily fluid. A background check, drug screen, and annual flu vaccine are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing according to departmental policies.
• Plan and complete daily cleaning tasks.
• Empty hampers, transport soiled linen, and remove trash and medical waste, including sharps.
• Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap.
• Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and report necessary repairs.
• Protect equipment from damage through proper use and logging.
• Perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, or removing heavily soiled items.
• Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors, meeting or exceeding customer service satisfaction goals.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision.
• Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and by phone.
• Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and using cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers.

Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting serving children, or at Olive Branch Senior Center, must possess and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques.
• Additional related education and/or experience.

7:00 AM – 2:00 PM, includes weekend rotations.
