About the role

Banner Boswell Medical Center, a nationally recognized 410-bed acute-care hospital, seeks a Housekeeping EVS Associate to maintain a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role is part of a vital team that supports high-quality healthcare services, including cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, emergency care, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain hospital facilities, including patient rooms and assigned areas.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing according to departmental policies.
  • Empty hampers and transport soiled linen; empty trash containers and remove all waste.
  • Empty medical waste containers, including sharps, and restock supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap.
  • Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and report necessary repairs.
  • Protect equipment from damage through proper use and log equipment usage as required.
  • Participate in special projects such as window washing, wall washing, or removing heavily soiled items.
  • Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors while meeting or exceeding customer service satisfaction goals.
  • May be assigned to clean specialty areas, including morgues or COVID-19 units, and handle cleaning chemicals to address blood or bodily fluids.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision.
  • Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions.
  • Effective communication skills via phone and verbally.
  • Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and using cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers.
  • Completion of onboarding in a timely manner; failure to do so may result in rescission of the job offer.
  • Must receive the annual flu vaccine unless an exemption is approved by the recruiter.
  • Background check and drug screen required upon offer.

Schedule

  • Part-time position working 28 hours per week.
  • Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Thursday through Sunday.
  • Weekend and holiday work required.
  • Flat-rate $1/hour weekend shift differential applies when applicable.
