About the role

The EVS Associate – 16 hr/wk – 3rd Shift 11p-7:30a position at Bronson South Haven is under the supervision of the environmental services manager. The role involves maintaining environmental and infection control standards within established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning of patient rooms, occupied and unoccupied, public areas, surgical areas as well as additional areas as assigned
• Stocking of supplies
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment
• Service to both internal and external customers
• Auditing work for accuracy and compliance with standards of quality
• Communicating with departmental staff and internal and external customers
• Maintaining confidentiality of patient and unit data per HIPPA regulations
• Removing trash and soiled linen from assigned areas and transporting to disposal area
• Maintaining knowledge of, and complying with, all relevant laws, regulations, and policies
• Operating ultraviolet (UV) disinfection equipment (Surfacide UV Robot)

Requirements

• Michigan driver's license and insurability may be required
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in English (at or above the 8th grade level)
• Excellent customer service skills, thoroughness, and time management skills
• Interpersonal skills that represent Bronson in a positive and professional manner
• Comfortable accepting delegation and negotiating task priorities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is no longer required for this position
• Ability to work while standing, sitting, and/or walking
• Regularly lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (up to 50 pounds)
• Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
• Occasional exposure to risk of injury when working with electrical equipment
• Good balance is required when performing all duties
• Confidentiality of patient and unit data per HIPPA regulations
• Proper use of and maintenance of all assigned floor care machinery
