About the role
EvoSolar Solar sells, designs, and builds quality solar systems. Our focus is to provide an outstanding customer experience and deliver a high-quality PV system. A Residential Electrician will assist with the installation of new projects and the rehabilitation of existing systems.
Responsibilities
- Install full service upgrades from the PSEG connections, including replacing masts, meters, and full panel swaps
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits
- Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments
- Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
- Understand layout and assembly of solar modules/array and mounting hardware
- Perform mechanical and structural mounting of racking, modules, and electrical equipment
- Handle basic electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC)
- Ensure proper clean-up of job site
- Drive to the warehouse daily to pick up a service truck and travel to all NYC boroughs and across Long Island
- Attend training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety
- Follow safe work practices for the installation team
- Complete all other assignments and special projects as requested by Management
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as an electrician
- Solar experience is a plus but not required (training will be provided)
- Clean driver’s license
- OSHA 10 or 30 (preferred; can obtain after being hired)
- Must have own tools
- Ability to safely terminate live wires and perform electrical service upgrades
- Comfortable working on roofs with pitched surfaces; no fear of heights
- Ability to work in extreme weather (hot and sunny as well as colder temperatures)
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs
