Evisceration Technician

About the Role

This position involves performing all evisceration production work on a rotation basis within a processing facility.

Responsibilities

• Performs all positions on the evisceration line.
• Participates as a team member in the ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
• Coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members and attends team meetings.
• Fosters team cohesiveness on major issues (e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes).
• Identifies and addresses areas lacking cohesiveness, bringing them to the team leader’s attention and working toward resolution.
• Reinforces actions needed to achieve synergy within the larger organization.
• Understands and supports Simmons' operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN).
• Maintains familiarity with the role’s impact on these systems and communicates concerns or improvement ideas.
• Performs additional duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Requirements

• Able to efficiently work in a plant environment with regular standing, reaching, and movement.
• Light to moderate physical effort required.
• Must use personal protective equipment (PPE) including waterproof footwear, gloves, apron, hearing protection, and hair nets as required.
• Preferred experience working around machinery.
• Basic knowledge of a processing facility.
• Basic math skills and proficiency in English (spelling, grammar, and composition) may be required depending on the position.
