About the Role

The Events and Sponsorships Specialist, Lead leads the planning and execution of OnPoint’s community engagement efforts, including events, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships. This role ensures all community-facing initiatives align with organizational priorities to attract, retain, and grow membership. Working closely with executive leadership, regional teams, and cross-functional marketing partners, this role translates business objectives into community engagement strategies that strengthen brand presence and deliver measurable impact.

The Events and Sponsorships Specialist, Lead oversees the intake, prioritization, and execution of more than 400 annual events, sponsorships, and partnerships, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, consistency in brand execution, and effective use of resources.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of community engagement strategies across events, sponsorships, and partnerships aligned with business and brand objectives.
  • Oversee intake, prioritization, and workflow management of event and sponsorship requests through systems such as Monday.com, ensuring visibility, consistency, and alignment across teams.
  • Lead and coach a team responsible for events, partnerships, and sponsorships.
  • Set and uphold a high standard of customer service for internal stakeholders, leading and developing a team that delivers responsive, professional, and solutions-oriented support.
  • Partner with executive leadership and internal stakeholders to support high-profile events, strategic initiatives, and relationship-building opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Regional and Area Managers, branch leaders, and business line stakeholders to evaluate and prioritize community engagement opportunities based on defined goals.
  • Ensure consistent and high-quality execution across more than 400 annual events, including planning, logistics, brand presence, and on-site engagement strategy.
  • Lead OnPoint’s signature events and key partnership activations, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and delivery of sponsorship benefits.
  • Establish and maintain measurement frameworks to evaluate the effectiveness of events and sponsorships, including post-event debriefs, surveys, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Analyze performance data and insights to inform future strategy, optimize resource allocation, and improve engagement outcomes.
  • Assist Director, Brand Activation with integrating community engagement efforts with broader marketing initiatives, including campaigns, media partnerships, and brand strategy.
  • Support the development and execution of key community and media initiatives, including programs such as KGW School Supply Drive, OnPoint Prize, and other media-led campaigns.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and tracking of event-related expenses, promotional items, and equipment.
  • Lead the Marketing Cheer Committee workgroup, a marketing volunteer group responsible for initiating culture-related activities and celebration opportunities for the team.
  • Ensure compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements across all activities.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine processes, tools, and strategies to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.
  • Coordinate and guide third-party agency labor.
  • Perform additional projects, responsibilities, or other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7 years of experience in community engagement, events, sponsorships, marketing, or related roles.
  • Experience leading projects and teams.
  • Experience managing projects, budgets, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience leading and executing large-scale events and partnership programs.
  • Must hold and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license.

Skills

  • Strong experience in community engagement strategy, event marketing, or partnership management.
  • Ability to translate business goals into actionable community engagement plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience managing high-volume, complex programs with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to constructively decline requests.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and develop team members while motivating and building consensus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and operational excellence.
  • Experience using project management or workflow tools such as Monday.com.
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and apply insights to improve future outcomes.
  • Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams, including marketing, retail, and external partners.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Schedule

  • Occasional regional travel (approx. 10%) using company vehicle.

Physical Requirements

  • Willingness to occasionally drive company vehicles for event-related activations and tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry event-related equipment like tents, tent weights, tables, and chairs.
