What You'll Do

  • Own the full annual event calendar including 35+ virtual and in-person events per year, plus internal company meetings and gatherings
  • Run registration end to end: capacity, waitlists, automation sequences, CRM integration, and the cancellation and no-show workflows that protect revenue per event
  • Lead venue selection, contract negotiation, catering, AV, and on-site staffing for all in-person events
  • Own event project plans and budgets from cost estimate through reconciliation, proactively improving ROI
  • Own all event marketing assets and promotional campaigns in partnership with the marketing team, keeping every registration page accurate and conversion-optimized
  • Drive our Speaker Showcase event and ticket sales including pricing strategy, promotion, and distribution
  • Promote events across all BBG-owned channels and build external reach into aligned communities like NSA, EO, and Toastmasters
  • Manage discount and comp ticket strategy, including partnership exchanges and member upgrades
  • Own the attendee journey from registration through post-event follow-up
  • Curate the experiential details such as music, breakouts, surprises, engagement moments, the things that make every BBG event feel premium, whether virtual or in-person
  • Drive agenda design and format evolution across all event types, coordinating with the content team to fill topic gaps and keep programming fresh
  • Track event financial performance: sponsorship revenue and pipeline, ticket sales, expenses, and commissions
  • Design and deliver emcee training and roundtable host certification for virtual and in-person programs
  • Brief event-day staff, coach facilitators post-event, and continuously sharpen run books and playbooks

Who You Are

  • An ownership mindset: you don't wait to be told, you identify what needs to happen and you make it happen
  • Detail-obsessed and experience-driven: you notice the music is wrong, the room is too cold, and the agenda is 3 minutes off
  • Comfortable closing: you're energized by presenting opportunities, handling objections and confidently closing sponsorships that align with our mission
  • A builder and a relational person: this role will require you to create systems, processes, and programs that don't yet exist and build connections with sponsors, vendors and attendees
  • Mission-aligned: you believe that personal branding changes lives, and working here feels like more than a job

Experience That Looks Like

  • 8–10+ years of progressive event management responsibility across virtual and in-person programs
  • Multi-event annual calendars (10+ events/year) managed end to end, from planning through financial reconciliation
  • Sponsorship sales — prospecting, proposals, negotiation, and long-term relationship management
  • Event marketing campaigns with a track record of driving registration
  • Proficiency with CRM, registration platforms like Eventbrite, email automation, and virtual event tools

Bonus Points

  • B2B or professional development events
  • Speaker training or facilitation coaching
  • Personal brand industry familiarity
  • Nashville venue relationships
  • Compensation & Benefits

    • This role includes a base salary plus an initial draw until sponsorship commissions exceed the draw.
    • A few of the benefits you can expect:
      • Health, dental, and vision insurance
      • Unlimited PTO
      • $100/month Bring Your Own Tech stipend
      • $500 Annual Growth Fund to support ongoing learning and development
      • 401(k) with up to a 5% company match after (activates at month 13 of employment)
