About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Technical Coordinator to join our Event Experiences team. This hands-on position supports client experiential retail activations and integrations, requiring both sophisticated technical knowledge and roll-up-your-sleeves capabilities. The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, self-reliant, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. This role demands adaptability to rapidly changing technology and infrastructure needs, comfort with seeking resources, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

The role reports to the Lead Technical Manager, Experiential Marketing, and includes a mix of remote work and domestic travel.

Responsibilities

  • Plan event and technical design with key business group and product stakeholders to determine environmental technical requirements.
  • Support event systems, including audio/video, lighting, HVAC, network/internet, live sound reinforcement, and power to enhance customer experiences and business group equipment.
  • Provide technical direction on configuration and wiring; identify and advise on system abilities/limitations in various event environments.
  • Create, integrate, and implement innovative technical event delivery solutions to enable agile and flexible responses to rapidly changing event needs.
  • Develop and manage wiring and install diagrams for equipment, power, audio, video, networking, and all other cabling needs for event systems builds.
  • Support pre-activation content testing, setup for demo testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with technical and systems construction, load-in, setup, testing, run of show, troubleshooting, teardown, pack, and load-out.
  • Support onsite activities during activations or integrations and assist the events team as needed.
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical issues during activations using strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Manage equipment logistics, including preparing, packing, shipping, and tracking inventory for Tier 1 and Tier 2 events and business group requests.
  • Create and manage devices and device accounts for activations; track, document, and update all related information to ensure devices are properly configured, tested, and equipped with necessary applications, content, and accounts.
  • Create and manage network infrastructure for activations and integrations; demonstrate ability to quickly change network configurations onsite as needs evolve.
  • Assist in building mixing racks for systems integrations when needed.
  • Continuously educate and train on current and new company and industry technologies and best practices.
  • Research and identify potential new equipment and technologies that integrate with current A/V systems; stay updated on industry standards and certifications.
  • Conduct QC testing of digital applications across Apple, Android, and Windows ecosystems and endpoints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems integration and events.
  • 3+ years of experience setting up demos/activations in retail environments, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges retail spaces present.
  • Deep experience with professional and consumer A/V systems and interconnectivity, including hardware, cables, connectors, signal conversion, HVAC, networking, and audio/video signal types and distribution.
  • Technical familiarity with relevant product categories and devices, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, computers, home theater systems, and TVs.
  • Equally familiar with Mac OS and Windows, as well as relevant audio and video file types.
  • Excellent cross-functional and cross-organizational program and team management skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence without direct management or reporting line responsibility.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Creative problem-solver with the ability to multitask, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive approach to handling challenges, with the ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and stay calm under pressure.
  • Versatility and flexibility in a rapidly changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Self-starter with a positive professional demeanor, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Customer-service oriented with a hands-on approach to tasks and a desire to learn and grow in the field.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (travel frequency depends on the number of events; each trip is typically 4-5 days per month, primarily in Southern California, Las Vegas, and Dallas).

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday, following a 9/80 schedule. Overtime is not expected but may occur based on business needs and must be approved by a manager.
