Events & Membership Coordinator- Innovate Bay
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). Do NOT repeat the job title as a heading. Do NOT put Job ID / requisition numbers as headings. Include a section ONLY when posting has real, specific content for it. So we need to decide which sections to include.
We have content: About Innovate Bay (company description). That could be "About the role"? Actually "About Innovate Bay" is about the organization, not the role. The instructions list example headings: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We can adapt: "About the role" could contain position overview. "About Innovate Bay" maybe not needed? But we need to preserve all substantive information. Could include a section "About Innovate Bay" but not in the list of allowed headings? The instruction says use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). It doesn't forbid other headings, but suggests those are typical. Safer to stick to those headings. We can put company description under "About the role" or maybe under a separate heading like "About Innovate Bay". However the instruction says "use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)". It doesn't say we cannot use other headings, but to be safe we can use those headings and map content accordingly.
We need sections: About the role (position overview + maybe company description). Responsibilities (list of duties). Requirements (minimum qualifications). Qualifications (preferred qualifications). Skills (knowledge, skills and abilities). Pay (salary range). Schedule (hours per week, occasional evenings/weekends). Benefits? Not mentioned. So we omit Benefits.
We must not include sections with filler like "commensurate with experience". Pay section we have actual salary range, so include. Schedule we have up to 29 hours per week, occasional evening/weekend. Include.
We must not repeat job title as heading. No job ID.
We must remove boilerplate: cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning, duplicated lines, application instructions. So we need to strip out the "Application Process" etc. Also remove EEO statement at end. Also remove "Anticipated Start Date To be determined." (that's filler? It's specific but maybe we can include? It's not a heading; we could include as a paragraph under About the role? But it's not required. The instruction: preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. So we should keep that info if it's substantive. However "Anticipated Start Date To be determined." is not specific; it's TBD. The instruction says never emit a heading followed by filler/placeholder text (e.g. "commensurate with experience", "not specified", "N/A", "varies", "TBD") and never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them. It doesn't say we cannot include a paragraph that says TBD. But it's filler. Might be better to omit because it's not substantive. However "Anticipated Start Date To be determined." is not useful. I'd consider it filler and could drop. The instruction says preserve ALL substantive information; TBD is not substantive. So we can drop.
Also "This position description is not intended to cover..." is boilerplate; drop.
Also "Innovate Bay is committed to providing equal employment opportunities..." drop.
Also "Contact information for professional references may be requested later..." drop as application instructions.
Also "Applications will be reviewed as received until the position is filled." drop.
Also "For Full Consideration, Applicants Should Submit A current resume. A brief letter of interest..." drop.
Now we need to format lists: Use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits.
We need to decide what constitutes a list. The responsibilities are many bullet-like sentences. We'll turn them into
- . Similarly Minimum Qualifications list, Preferred Qualifications list, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities list.
We need to wrap each section in
heading and then content.
Structure:
About the role
About Innovate Bay: Innovate Bay is a startup incubator and collaborative innovation ecosystem in Fremont, California, designed to support entrepreneurs, researchers, and early-stage companies. We provide founders and innovators with access to workspace, programming, community connections, and resources that help turn promising ideas into growing ventures. Our goal is to create a welcoming, highly engaged environment where entrepreneurs can connect, collaborate, learn, and build.
Position Overview: The Events & Membership Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations, member experience, and community programming of Innovate Bay’s Fremont co-working and innovation space. Reporting to the Managing Director overseeing Innovate Bay, this highly visible, hands-on role serves as a primary point of contact for members, prospective members, guests, event participants, and community partners while coordinating events, supporting membership growth, and ensuring smooth space operations. The ideal candidate is personable, resourceful, highly organized, and comfortable working independently in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment. This is a non-exempt, part-time, in-person position in Fremont, California, working up to 29 hours per week, with occasional evening or weekend availability for scheduled events.
But we also have Schedule and Pay sections separate. Might be redundant to repeat schedule/hours in About the role. Better to keep schedule/hours only in Schedule section. So About the role should contain position overview and company description but not schedule/hours. We'll extract schedule/hours to Schedule section.
Thus About the role: company description + position overview (excluding schedule/hours). We'll need to remove the schedule sentence from position overview.
Position overview sentence: "The Events & Membership Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations, member experience, and community programming of Innovate Bay’s Fremont co-working and innovation space. We'll keep that.
