The Highlights

The Events Manager reports to the Assistant Dean of Budget Administration and manages all events for the Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media. Key responsibilities include event planning, promotion, and coordination with student organizations.

What You'll Do

  • Event Calendaring, Planning, & Promotions:
    • Full-spectrum event planning and execution
    • Facility selection and room reservations
    • Menu planning, transportation arrangements, and RSVPs
    • Negotiate contracts with facilities, catering, and vendors
    • Manage catering and events budget
    • Maintain and update CDM calendar
    • Promote events through CDM and DePaul University websites and Eventbrite
    • Manage promotional item requests
  • CDM Student Organizations:
    • Budget management and logistical support
    • Create and maintain list of active student groups
    • Update promotional materials
  • Summer Programming:
    • Application, acceptance, scholarship, and registration processes
    • Develop summer promotions
    • Communicate with applicants and families
    • Manage catering for summer events
  • Commencement Coordination:
    • Represent CDM on Campus Commencement Coordinators Committee
    • Coordinate volunteer participation
  • Other Duties:
    • Attendance at events, including evenings and weekends
    • Occasional travel to Cinespace facility

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience required
  • Experience and success in events management preferred
  • Proficiency with Canva or other design software preferred
  • Ability to coordinate and train others
  • Budget management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Decision-making skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

Pay & Benefits

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $50,174 to $53,820. The salary range provided reflects the reasonable expected pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education, and other factors including departmental budget.
