Events and Marketing Specialist (Up to 20 hours p/w with Excellent Benefits)

About the role

The Town of Los Gatos is seeking a part-time Events & Marketing Specialist to coordinate and implement various town events. The position also involves assisting community stakeholders through the special event permit process.

Responsibilities

• Implement large scale community events and support community event organizers
• Manage the special event permit process from start to finish
• Develop marketing materials and maintain the event budget
• Partner with vendors and process agreements
• Work cross-departmentally on logistics and safety measures
• Provide day-of event coordination and implementation
• Organize community and volunteer groups
• Other event-related tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, hospitality management or a related field and two (2) years of coordinating a variety of small to large scale events
• Experience developing marketing materials and posting through a variety of social and other media outlets

Pay

$37.3283 - 48.2183 per hour, plus benefits.

Schedule

20 hours per week, with some evenings, weekends, and holidays during specific events. Primary schedule is Monday through Friday, with the weekly work schedule determined upon hiring.
