About the role
The Events and Community Engagement Manager will plan, organize, and execute events in San Francisco. They will also partner with Foundation leadership on developing and executing a community engagement strategy for the Foundation with certain technical communities.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and execute various events, including workshops, dinners, and team-building activities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to meet event objectives and ensure a high level of satisfaction among participants
- Manage budgets and timelines for events
- Develop and document replicable event strategies, processes and playbooks
- Develop event success tracking through participant feedback and other relevant metrics, making data-driven recommendations for future improvements
- Potentially travel up to 20% to host events in other cities, such as New York, London, and Washington D.C.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in event planning
- Experience organizing a wide range of events from start to finish
- Proactive self-starter with experience building/running processes and playbooks
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with a proven ability to handle multiple events simultaneously
- Can roll up your sleeves and get things done but also be able to plan for the future and develop processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with team members at all levels
- Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, memorable events
- Proficient in Google Calendar/Docs, Asana, Notion and other event management tools
