Event Technician, Audio Visual - (Part Time Casual) - South Florida Labor Pool
Technicians set up and operate small-scale audiovisual systems in hospitality venues, ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This role reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and break down basic audiovisual equipment to deliver flawless events.
- Exceed internal and external customer expectations through proactive communication and relationship-building.
- Meet on-site guests to confirm their needs and verify equipment functionality; monitor events and check in with customers throughout the day.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and software issues in a timely, professional manner.
- Follow company processes, complete accurate systems entry, and use equipment sheets to determine setup and strike requirements.
- Coordinate with staff and outside vendors for equipment needs.
- Increase revenue through floor up-selling techniques and finalize client invoices.
- Complete order entries in Navigator as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (required); Associate’s degree (preferred).
- Internal applicants must meet all training and certification requirements per Encore’s Global Learning Training Program.
- External applicants must achieve all required training and certifications within one year.
- 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience (preferred).
- 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent educational experience (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license for roles requiring operation of Company vehicles; additional DOT requirements may apply.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment
- Hotel/Convention Center: Moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and dust; noise levels vary from quiet to loud. Work involves high-end AV equipment, electrical components, and heights via lifts/ladder.
- Warehouse: Exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and dust; noise levels vary. Work may involve high-end AV equipment and electrical components.
- Irregular hours, on-call status, and travel between multiple hotel locations may be required.

Pay
Hourly pay range: $15.64 – $20.33. Compensation is determined by qualifications, location, relevant experience, skills, and expertise. Some roles may be eligible for overtime, bonuses, or incentives.
