Event Technical Lead, Audio Visual- Sunseeker Resort Port Charlotte
Intermediate-level role focused on setup, operation, and breakdown of small to large-scale audiovisual systems in hospitality venues. Reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.
Responsibilities
- Accurately and timely set up, operate, and break down intermediate audiovisual equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly as they arise.
- Comply with all company security and safety measures.
- Ensure equipment is secure from theft and/or damage when in use.
- Provide excellent service and strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
- Lead, mentor, and coach other Technicians on Encore’s Delivering World Class Service philosophy.
- Maintain positive relationships with all clients through effective communication.
- Meet with guests on site to ensure their needs are met and the equipment setup is working properly.
- Monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day.
- Understand and foster the hotel/client relationship.
- Demonstrate advanced operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues.
- Anticipate equipment challenges and implement changes in a timely and professional manner.
- Understand company processes, follow procedures, and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately.
- Use equipment sheets to determine scheduled setups and strikes.
- Interact with other staff and outside vendors for equipment needs.
- Increase revenue by utilizing floor up-selling techniques.
- Work with clients to finalize invoices.
- Work within Encore systems and applications as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- 2-3+ years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- 2-3+ years of audio-visual experience required.
- Valid driver’s license required for positions that may operate company vehicles.
- Must complete all required training and certifications within 60 days of start date.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment
- Work is performed in hotel/convention center environments with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and/or dust.

- Use of high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components.
- May be required to work in multiple hotel locations.
- Irregular hours and on-call status, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Adherence to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore.
- Warehouse work may include exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and/or dust.
- Warehouse working conditions vary from moderately quiet to noisy volumes.
Pay
Hourly pay range: $15.65 - $20.35. Compensation is determined based on qualifications, location, travel, relevant work experience, and particular skills. Some positions may be eligible for overtime, bonuses, or incentives.
