Event Staff Security

DK Security is Michigan’s fastest-growing security company. About the role

Event Staff Security Officers utilize their outstanding customer service skills to provide crowd control services for events such as concerts, sporting events, trade shows, and conferences at various locations. Officers ensure the safety of patrons, employees, and visitors at both large and small-scale events.

Current openings include evenings and weekends with limited day shifts. Officers are scheduled for a minimum of 4-6 events per month.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, guests, and performers.
• Maintain a hospitality-focused security brand with all clients, guests, and co-workers.
• Control access and follow venue-specific guidelines.
• Conduct foot patrols as required.

Success in this role includes:

• Reliability: Report for shifts on time, presentable, and in the prescribed uniform.
• Friendly Personality: Balance outstanding customer service with enforcement of client policies and rules.
• Policy Adherence: Read and interpret written post guidelines, follow procedures, and ensure all tasks are completed during the shift.
• De-escalation: Defuse situations using verbal judo and other communication tactics.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must pass a criminal background check with no felony convictions (in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws).
• Must be available to work a minimum of 4+ events per month.
• Must have excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand or walk for 4-8 hour shifts.
• Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations.
• Must be able to work indoors or outdoors during all seasons.
• Must be able to hear conversations (in person or via 2-way radio) in noisy environments.
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay

$18.00/hour (site dependent).
