Event Staff - College Sports

About the role

Join the Event Staff Team at Lamar University and enjoy your job while having fun! This position offers flexible scheduling to fit your lifestyle, with part-time hours under 30 per week. No prior experience is needed—we provide full training. Starting pay is $14 per hour, and you’ll be paid weekly.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of event day preparation and execution.
• Allow appropriate entry into each venue; may collect and/or scan tickets, verify wristbands and badges, and direct traffic coming in and out of the venue.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the policies, procedures, and regulations of different venues, facilities, and events.
• Initiate a genuine, friendly, and personal greeting to guests as they arrive at your assigned area, and a sincere thank you as you complete your encounter.
• Provide guests with helpful directions and suggestions to enhance their entertainment experience.
• Ensure cleanliness, operational efficiency, and maintenance of designated areas.
• Direct foot traffic as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a high school diploma (or equivalent).
• Must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test; may be required to pass a driver’s record check.
• Must be professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required.
