About the Role
GreatHorse is a private golf club that offers an exceptional lifestyle without pretentiousness. Located in Hampden, Massachusetts, the club provides world-class golf, breathtaking views, and upscale amenities, including luxury lodging, an outdoor pool and bar, a private spa and fitness center, golf simulators, tennis and pickleball courts, transportation services, and an award-winning restaurant and bar. Our culinary team uses seasonal ingredients sourced from Our Farm at GreatHorse.
Responsibilities
- Aid event managers in serving guests during banquet functions to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Set up event room as requested by supervisor, including glassware, silverware, and linen.
- Attend pre-event meetings to learn function particulars, including guest expectations.
- Maintain assigned station, appearance, and sanitation.
- Greet and welcome guests.
- Respond to guest requests in a timely, courteous, and friendly manner.
- Serve beverages and food in the appropriate order and consistent with supervisor expectations.
- Quickly remove dishes as guests finish each meal.
- Abide by all corporate acts, laws, and requirements about serving alcoholic beverages.
- Replenish beverages when necessary.
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction.
- Reset the event room according to supervisor specifications for readiness.
- Maintain reasonable, regular, and punctual attendance.
- Adapt to changing duties based on business needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Availability to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays.
- Physical ability and stamina to manage, carry, and/or lift items up to forty pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for the entire shift.
Skills
- Knowledge of beverage ingredients.
- Multi-tasking abilities.
- Good oral communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to take initiative and perform job functions with diligence, speed, and accuracy.
- Confidence and knowledge of the venue while upholding the integrity of The Starting Gate.
Physical Demands
- Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity most of the workday.
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects more or less than 30 pounds.
- Required to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
