About the Venue
The Tyson Events Center is a 190,000 square foot multi-purpose facility located in downtown Sioux City, Iowa. It was built starting in 2002 and opened on December 17, 2003. The venue features a horseshoe-shaped seating bowl with an end court upper balcony and 28 luxury suites. The Tyson Events Center is home to the Sioux City Musketeers hockey team and the Sioux City Bandits arena football team. It hosts over 140 different events each year, including concerts, sporting events, family shows, trade shows, competitions, religious services, bull riding competitions, commencement ceremonies, lectures, and political rallies, among other corporate and community events. The arena is host to the NAIA Women's Division II Basketball National Championship and NAIA Volleyball Championship. The Tyson Events Center is owned by the City Of Sioux City and managed by Oak View Group.
Responsibilities
- Respond to requests for assistance from staff and visitors for a variety of security issues (fire, medical emergencies, etc.)
- Performs all event and non-event security duties as assigned
- Conducts building safety inspections (normally pre-event and post-event safety checks)
- Admits building staff, suppliers, contractors, visitors, and guests to the facility according to established security procedures
- Answers information requests from staff and guests during events or as needed
- Protects equipment, materials, and structures throughout the work schedule
- Provides regular security functions within the arena and related areas prior to, during, and after all events
- When requested, provide escorts of persons to and from locations within the facility
Qualifications
- Prior security experience preferred, but not required
- Able to work events as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication skills required
- Able to work beyond traditional business hours, including nights, weekends, and select holidays, is required
- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Must demonstrate a positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude
