Position Overview
The Event Security Officer is responsible for protecting guests, staff, and property at venues such as stadiums, theaters, convention centers, and special events. Duties include crowd management, access control, bag inspections, screening for prohibited items, and responding to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Crowd management and access control
- Bag inspections and attendee screening
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment
- Enforce venue policies and professionally de-escalate conflicts or disruptive behavior
- Respond to medical incidents, fire alarms, and other emergencies
- Patrol venue perimeters and restricted areas
- Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious activity
- Complete accurate incident reports and communicate effectively with supervisors and event staff
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two years of security experience preferred; event security experience is highly desirable
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Proficiency with smartphones, incident-reporting applications, and email
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to work assigned day, swing, or graveyard shifts, including overtime when needed
Requirements
- Valid California BSIS Guard Card
- Ability to pass a background investigation, including California Live Scan fingerprinting
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for the majority of an 8-hour shift
- Ability to regularly climb stairs
