Event Security Officer | Part-Time | UBS Arena

About the Role

UBS Arena is hiring Event Security Officers. The Event Security Officer reports to the Event Security Manager and is primarily responsible for security operations during all events, ensuring effective operations that meet industry show standards and customer satisfaction requirements.

About the Venue

UBS Arena at Belmont Park is New York's newest premier entertainment and sports venue, home of the New York Islanders. Developed in partnership with Oak View Group, the New York Islanders, and Jeff Wilpon, the arena opened in November 2021 and hosts top artists and events. The venue features clear sightlines, premier acoustics, and is a leader in sustainability, holding LEED Green Building Certification and achieving carbon neutrality for operations in Fall 2022.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall security for all ticketed and non-ticketed events.
• Effectively service guests, clients, and employees.
• Work as a team player and self-motivator in a fast-paced environment.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Perform all assigned security posts.
• Use company-provided communication devices, such as two-way radios.
• Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent prohibited items from entering the arena.
• Write reports to document incidents involving guests and employees.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of previous experience in an Event Security role preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to function independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with comfort working with the public.
• Active NYS Security License required.

Pay

This role pays an hourly rate of $24.15 (per CBA).
