About the role

We are looking for a part-time onsite Event Manager for our Candlelight Concerts located in and near Ventura County, California. This role is central to delivering our unique candlelit classical music experiences, which take place in intimate venues worldwide. Candlelight has democratized classical music, currently operating in over 300 cities globally.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact onsite for Candlelight events and staff; communicate directly with Fever Originals manager
  • Full visibility into staff roster; set schedules and coordinate with the staffing agency regarding event reschedules
  • Ensure each staff member is trained in their duties, including ticket validation, guest accommodation, and venue setup (e.g., candle arrangement)
  • Drive a U-Haul with event supplies to and from concert venues (alternative arrangements available if candidate cannot drive or lacks a valid driver’s license)
  • Manage inventory and track supplies for venues
  • Handle all printing needs for events
  • Manage guest lists for all events
  • Deliver opening and closing remarks at events (typically via recorded speech, with occasional public speaking)
  • Provide weekly reporting to Fever Originals Project Managers on event status, including pre- and post-event feedback
  • Occasionally assist with evaluating and executing walk-throughs of potential venues
  • Represent both Fever and Candlelight brands professionally, acting as the primary customer service representative at every event

This role offers the opportunity to grow within an exciting, rapidly expanding company, with potential to manage Candlelight and other Fever events in additional areas.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in event management and/or a relevant degree (preferred)
  • Interest and passion for live music and organizing events
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Experience leading an on-site team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of AV and PA systems (desirable)
  • Must have a personal laptop for work
  • Valid driver’s license is strongly preferred

Schedule

The contract is for 6 months, ideally starting as soon as possible, with potential for extension. Shows run weekly, with shift times varying from 4–8 hours per day. The role requires up to 29 hours per week, including occasional work on holidays (excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas). Most concerts take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, so availability during these times may be expected.

Pay

Rate: $25/hour. Further details can be discussed during the interview.
