Responsibilities
- Acts as the central contact during all phases of event management for clients and contractors of the center and will be tasked with acquiring and disseminating event and venue-related information.
- Receives, assembles, and distributes event information via resumes to the team members to facilitate efficient and satisfactory completion of client requirements.
- Provide leadership and guidance for event personnel.
- Oversees and manages all event-related services provided by the venue to ensure that our clients’ expectations are met.
- Ensure team members and clients are familiar with safety and emergency procedures during events.
- Cook up and coordinate all primary and pre-event meetings with the client team and staff.
- Provide exceptional service to current and future clients to ensure successful events.
- Constant communication with clients in order to plan and organize all event-related logistics.
- Ensure that daily post reports are sent out to team members during load-in, event days, and load-out.
- Prepare post-event settlement in coordination with the finance department in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Event Management, Hospitality Management, or Business.
- 3-5 years of event management experience or related public relations, hospitality management, business, or industry experience.
- Working knowledge of the principles of facility management, services, and equipment for a similar facility.
- Experience with budget preparation and control.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills required.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Problem-solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of operational characteristics of events.
- Knowledge of crowd management and control techniques.
- Knowledge of fire and public safety regulations.
- Knowledge of A/V equipment and electronic systems in public assembly facilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint , MS SharePoint, and MS Outlook).
- Knowledge of Ungerboeck, Social Tables, AutoCAD, Vector, or a related event management and design software program.
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification is a plus, but not required.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid drivers’ license.
