Event Manager
About the role
The Event Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of events including weddings, proms, private parties, holiday gatherings, revenue-generating events, and concerts. This role involves working closely with clients on event logistics such as catering, menu selection, bar service, décor, and entertainment options, while also handling contracts, deposits, and communication with internal teams including Catering, Production, and Development.
The Event Manager will serve as a liaison between clients and staff, operate event systems, and assist with ticketing through Live Nation and Ticketmaster. This position reports to the Director of Group Sales and is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, requiring forty hours per scheduled work week.
Responsibilities
- Conduct sales and events walk-throughs, final detail meetings, and day-of coordination to ensure smooth execution.
- Maintain event calendars and respond to inquiries.
- Manage facility coordinator as needed.
- Prepare reports and forecasts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, preferred.
- One to two years of experience in group sales and marketing or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Flexible schedule with nights and weekends required.
- Must be 18+ years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the Zoo fleet insurance carrier.
