Event Manager

About the role
The Event Manager, under the general supervision of the Director of Event Services, provides professional client services support in the planning, organization, and management of events within the facility. This role interacts with clients, facility staff, and related personnel to ensure all event needs are fulfilled.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with clients to obtain technical requirements for developing and executing event plans, including diagrams, riders, advances, labor scheduling, and equipment orders.
- Prepare event agendas and assist in production meetings with staff from all departments to facilitate effective communication and execution of event needs.
- Review artist riders and maintain weekly contact with artist tour managers.
- Act as liaison between the facility and clients to ensure all requirements are met and facility rules, regulations, and policies (e.g., ADA compliance, NFPA life safety codes, OSHA guidelines) are adhered to.
- Coordinate with the Box Office regarding production requirements for seating diagrams and capacities.
- Prepare event cost analysis, estimated expenses, and settlements for arena events as needed.
- Administer follow-up inspections to ensure work completion and provide evaluation reports.
- Schedule, train, supervise, and work alongside Front of House event staff, including Guest Services, Police, EMS, Class D Licensed Security, and Recreational Ice Programs.
- Facilitate recreational ice programs for figure skating clubs, amateur hockey leagues, and private skates, including scheduling ice time, supervising event staff, submitting invoices, and fulfilling program user agreements.
- Ensure all pertinent event information is obtained, filed, and distributed, including artist riders, contracts, diagrams, capacity manifests, equipment orders, production notes, staffing calls, and incident reports.
- Supervise and work alongside various labor crews to facilitate venue readiness.
- Provide quality service and execution through daily operations and event production.
- Serve as "manager on duty" for events when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise part-time event staff and managers for security, front of house, police, and EMS.
- Supervise local IATSE part-time employees during conversions, show calls, and daily operations.
- Demonstrate supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legends Global policies and applicable laws.
- Work with the Operations Director to interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; review and evaluate performance; and address complaints and resolve problems.

- General knowledge of theatrical rigging, sound & lighting, stage building, HVAC, IT support, show power, electrical systems, exhibition show sets, ice rink operations, banquet sets, and meeting room functions.
- Required to pass a credit check and background screening.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree with an event management emphasis preferred.
- 4 years of hands-on, professional event production experience in arenas, theaters, stadiums, and/or convention centers, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with negotiating, executing, and fulfilling contracts, including user agreements, service provider agreements, and labor union agreements.
- Understanding of laws, building codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management, and emergency procedures.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to foster working relationships with partners, clients, employees, exhibitors, and patrons.
- Detail-oriented.
Skills
- Proficiency in Windows, MS Office, CAD, and Adobe.
- Possession of licenses, certificates, or training required for operating industry-related equipment is preferred.

Physical Demands
