About the role
The Event Manager will oversee the planning, coordination and execution of all Baller League USA events, including league matchdays, special events, launches, sponsor activations, fan experiences and finals.
This role requires a highly organized, solutions-oriented professional with experience delivering high-profile live sporting or entertainment events in fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of all Baller League USA live events.
- Develop comprehensive event timelines, production schedules and operational plans.
- Manage venue logistics, including load-in/load-out, event flow, staffing, accreditation and crowd management.
- Cook up matchday operations from venue opening through to event close.
- Liaise with venues to ensure operational readiness.
- Manage relationships with production companies, security providers, medical teams, catering, cleaning contractors, transport providers and other event suppliers.
- Oversee supplier contracts, deliverables and event budgets under the supervision of the Global Event Director.
- Serve as the primary operational lead on event days.
- Cook up all departments, including Competition Operations, Broadcast, Production, Hospitality, VIP Services, Talent Management and Fan Engagement.
- Ensure all events run according to schedule whilst proactively resolving operational issues.
- Develop and implement comprehensive event risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with venue regulations, local authority requirements, licensing obligations and health and safety protocols.
- Cook up emergency procedures and contingency planning.
- Support the development and management of event budgets.
- Monitor expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare post-event reports, operational reviews and performance evaluations.
- Work closely with the Marketing, Partnerships, Social Media, Broadcast, Football Operations and Finance teams.
- Support commercial partners in delivering contractual sponsorship activations.
Requirements
- A minimum of five years' experience managing live sporting events, entertainment productions or large-scale public events.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst working to tight deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of venue operations and event logistics.
- Experience managing external suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong budgeting and project management experience.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and event schedules.
Nice to have
- Background in arena or stadium event management.
- Knowledge of broadcast operations and live television requirements.
- Experience working with athletes, creators, influencers and VIP talent.
